Medicaid & You
In March 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) temporarily waived certain Medicaid requirements. The easing of these rules helped prevent people with Medicaid from losing their health coverage during the pandemic.

Starting in April, states will resume the Medicaid Redetermination process to determine eligibility. It is expected to take 12 months in most states to complete the process.

To prepare for eligibility, follow the steps below:
1
Update your contact information
Make sure Medicaid has your current mailing address, phone number, email, or other contact information. This way, they’ll be able to contact you about your Medicaid.
2
Check your mail
Your state Medicaid will mail you a letter about your Medicaid. This letter will also let you know if you need to complete a renewal form to see if you still qualify for Medicaid.
3
Complete your renewal form (if you get one)
Fill out the form and return it to right away to help avoid a gap in your Medicaid coverage.
